Robert
Stabler was named president of
North American operations for
equipment supplier Nipson Digital
Printing Systems PLC. Nipson North
America is based in Chicago. Stabler
succeeds Alain Flament, who was
promoted to global chief marketing
officer. Stabler previously served
as president of Agfa Graphic Systems’
North America business, where
he played a key role in transitioning
Agfa into digital markets. As
president of Nipson North America,
Stabler will drive growth in the
United States and Canada, and
develop strategic partnerships
to penetrate and grow markets
for Nipson’s digital printing
systems. As chief marketing officer,
Flament will oversee global marketing
and business development for the
company.
Sandra
Beach Lin was named group vice
president of specialty materials
and converting at Avery Dennison
Corporation. Beach Lin is based
at the company’s facilities
in Painesville, Ohio. She provides
strategic leadership of the company’s
graphics materials, reflective
materials, specialty tape, engineered
films, performance polymers, and
industrial and automotive products
divisions. Beach Lin previously
served as president of Closure
Systems International, a global
division of Alcoa Inc. based in
Chicago.
Mac
Byrd was named director of marketing
at Pictorial Offset Corporation,
Carlstadt, N.J. Byrd is responsible
for marketing the graphic arts
company’s services to print
buyers and brands regionally and
nationally. He previously served
as senior manager of brand relationship
marketing for Agfa Corporation,
Ridgefield Park, N.J.
Jana
Davis was named controller for
commercial printer McCormick-Armstrong’s
Wichita office and its subsidiary,
Terrell Creative, Kansas City,
Mo. Davis has 13 years of accounting
and finance experience in the
Wichita market. Dale Knoch was
named vice president of operations
for the Wichita facility. Knoch,
who has more than 26 years’
experience in the printing, packaging
and paper products industries,
directs all plant operations.
Steven
Lanham was named account director
at Triangle Printers Inc., Skokie,
Ill. He will implement a series
of direct mail programs, including
the printing and graphic arts
company’s “New Neighbor”
initiative, designed to introduce
clients’ products and services
to new residents. Paul Engel was
named sales representative. He
builds new client relationships
across Chicago.
Jack
Mitchell was named vice president
of sales for 3 Sigma Corporation,
a supplier of specialty coated
and adhesive products based in
Troy, Ohio. He directs the efforts
of the North American sales force
and the customer service group.
Terry Cudney was named marketing
manager. He’s responsible
for marketing and development
strategy, advertising, research
and support to business development.
PROMOTIONS
Jim
Bailey was named plant manager
at Sterling Business Forms Inc.’s
Sacramento, Calif., facility.
He most recently served as plant
manager at the manufacturer’s
Spokane, Wash., facility. He succeeds
Donna Matekel, who recently resigned
to spend more time with her family.
Tracey
Frost was named marketing coordinator
at Nazdar, Shawnee, Kan. Frost
coordinates the supplier’s
involvement in industry trade
shows and also works on a wide
variety of projects within the
company’s marketing department.
She previously served as customer
service expeditor and data entry
clerk.
Jerry
Fitch was named vice president
of sales and appointed to the
board of directors at Lyson Inc.,
Elk Grove Village, Ill. Fitch,
who has more than 25 years’
experience in the imaging industry,
is responsible for sales in North,
South and Central America. He
previously served as sales manager.
Tim Saul was named regional sales
manager for wide- and grand-format
ink products at Lyson. He previously
served as district sales manager
for ILFORD, where he worked with
distributors, dealers and direct
customers. Kenneth A. Holtane
was named technical support manager
for photographic products. He
most recently served as senior
technical service/applications
field engineer for ILFORD, where
he was responsible for pre- and
post-sales technical support and
service to sales representatives
and direct customers in the company’s
Midwest region.
RECOGNITIONS
Brad
Klingman (left), a sales associate

Partner Award of Excellence by
Target Corporation, Minneapolis.
The award, presented by John Remington,
vice president of Target’s
events marketing and communications
department, recognizes a group
of select vendor partners each
year for their innovative leadership,
superior business practices and
commitment to the company’s
core strategies.
Dave
Dambek of Numina Systems, Burr
Ridge, Ill., was named winner
of Fort Scott, Kan.-based manufacturer
Ward/Kraft Inc.’s first
2004-2005 Vacation Sales Incentive
giveaway. Dambek earned the trip
by entering new label orders in
excess of $100,000 since the program’s
start in September 2004. He can
choose between a 7-day, 6-night
trip to a resort or a cruise.
OBITUARY
John
P. Reeve, 92, retired president
and CEO of Appleton, Appleton,
Wis., recently died. Reeve began
his career with the supplier in
1934. He became president and
CEO in 1962, and retired in 1977.
During his tenure, Reeve directed
major capital expansions and the
company introduced thermal paper.
He was inducted into the Paper
Industry International Hall of
Fame last year.
