Marketing Piece

Judges’ comments: “Clever use of die cutting. Impressive how they’ve done it so economically and come up with a very good product.” St. Joseph Print Solutions developed a marketing piece for The Glasgow Condominiums, which wanted to promote its expensive, high-end condos. The company reduced the original size of the piece to 12 x 11 1/2 inches and also cut the envelope flap by a half inch, saving the client money while creating an improved and better-looking product.

Invitation with Die Cut and Envelope

Judges’ comments: “Great production design. It came from a single sheet but had multiple parts.” Source4’s client wanted a unique invitation with a die cut design and a compatible envelope that would stand out in the mail. Source4 designed all three pieces on one sheet for its Heidelberg Speedmaster. It inserted the invitation and response card in the envelope and sealed it with a clear wafer seal.

Marketing Piece

Judges’ comments: “Metallic ink is tough to print, but it ties the whole piece together. Good color pictures and good photography.” FSi’s client, AMI Metals Inc., asked the company to produce a marketing piece with a timeless look that highlighted its products and services. FSi used some stock photography but also used photos of the actual aluminum product and metallic silver ink. It created a new letterhead and quote shell stock to match the brochure’s design. AMI Metals could place the letterhead and stock in the brochure’s back pocket along with a business card in the furnished slits on the pocket’s outside. FSi also included a 10 x 13-inch catalog envelope used to mail the piece.

Judges’ comments: “It’s made of plastic—that’s innovation. The company is also promoting itself.” Conformer Expansion Products Inc. offered the Association of Graphic Communications of New York the Conformer® Expansion Plastic Envelope that easily accommodates the association’s 300-page Annual Buyers’ Guide. The envelope’s rigidity and expansion protect the guide’s spine and pages.
